Chess Board
Creating a photorealistic chess game with simple animation in the 3D program Blender was the goal of a project among friends. The challenge was met and the result was well received. In order to achieve the desired photorealism, it was necessary to pay close attention to the geometry of each piece. The knight was the most difficult piece to recreate, as its shape was drastically different from the other pieces. In addition, the bishop posed its own unique challenges, due to its indentations, which needed to be recreated with exacting accuracy if a clean geometry was desired. In the end, the project was a success and the short clip of this animation was enjoyed by all who saw it.
